You can celebrate the birth of a baby but not the anniversary of
the birth of the baby.
Only a JW would find that to be reasonable.

well, aren't they?
my jw father is arguing with me about holidays and birthdays so i asked him what baby showers were and how they differed from birthdays?
if mother's day and father's day are wrong, how is a baby's day (shower) not idolatry too?.

i can't remember, do they have enough sense not to go in fs in the us tomorrow?
new year's day (many need to sleep in!
), bowl games, etc....
The "wordly holidays" are special service days and
those who are seeking to climb the JW food chain
are expected to go out. The only change is they
gather for the group 1/2 hour later in the morning
to give the worldings another 1/2 hour to sleep in.

happy new year one and all!,.
the local elders sent a letter home with my hubby, pretty much stating that after "many" attempts to visit and speak with me, this letter is once again asking to meet because it came to their attention that i voted in the last pres.
election.
The official stance is that it is strongly suggested that you do not vote.
If an unbelieving husband forces his wife to go with him to the
polling booth she is expected to cast a vote for God's Kingdom or
do nothing and turn in a blank sheet of paper.
The Witnesses are more critical of voting now than they were
10 years ago. Voting is almost as taboo as taking blood. If you vote
I don't think that they would officially disfellowship you for that
because in today's political climate that would be bad PR if it
became public knowledge.

3 months ago one of my friends emailed me that.
he was invited to a jw "get together" to have some.
fun.
3 months ago one of my friends emailed me that
he was invited to a JW "get together" to have some
fun. They were supposed to dress up like what they
wanted to be in Paradise, like a farmer, a dancer,
carpenter, or a gardener, etc. Of course you had to bring
a covered dish with 2 liters of pop. There would
be games to play like checkers or monopoly and
the highlight of the night of fun and games was
to bring your new song books so they could practice
singing the new songs. I don't think that my friend
went so I do not know if everyone had a great time.
What a nice way to spend a Saturday night.

woe to you, scribes and pharisees, hypocrites!
for you travel across sea and land to make a single proselyte, and when he becomes a proselyte, you make him twice as much a child of hell as yourselves.. .
You can learn more here in one day than a life time sitting
in the Kingdom Hall.
last week i drove by the kh thursday at 6:25 pm which is.
35 minutes before the meeting starts and there were already.
15 cars in the parking lot.
I like the comment about the earlier you are the more holier you are.
That is so true. The spirtually sick ones come right at the starting time
or 5 minutes late.
ive been thinking about the future of the watchtower organization and the challenges it faces in coming decades.
its difficult to address the issue without allowing personal feelings affect the analysis.
many people seem to think that the society will collapse fairly soon, based mostly on the fact that the person dislikes the leadership or cant understand how others can believe the doctrine.
Well thought out.
Thanks,

Last week I drove by the KH Thursday at 6:25 PM which is
35 minutes before the meeting starts and there were already
15 cars in the parking lot. I asked myself "what the hell do they
do for 35 minutes?" Then it dawned on me that the average
JW does not have a life. Movies, sports, wordly relatives are
all taboo. The only life they have is going to the meetings and
going from door to door counting their time.

PS could someone send a link to my PM for the new elders book?
